Is there some way to resurrect KIA mercs, aside from restoring a game save and leaving a voice message?

I'd intended to hire Scully mid-game. He evidently accepted another contract unnoticed by me. Now I've received an eMail from A.I.M. saying he's bought the farm in the Philippines. Restoring a game save would set me back so far it's hardly an option.

I checked various editors and utilities but none seem to address the issue. IIRC, someone on these forums did a quick and dirty on one of the editors to resurrect Fox, but that was for 1.13, and I'm playing vanilla JA2. Has anything else been developed in the meantime?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hmmm don't think it's possible, unless with some powerful edit or going back to an older save which in most cases is catastrophic. For me the onlyion is going back though.

But hey, now that I learn I can say that all AIM mercs tend to die in the Philippines...Guess they don't like Philip's pines much...

Leaving voice message isn't necessary.
I used to do the resurection by reloading a lot, even for mercs I never wanted in my team.
The notification comes - based on observation - when team spends a lot of time learning or is not engaging in combat "often enough"; it's like a "penalty in regrets".

In my experience, reloaded save must be made before 23:00, otherwise the outcome remains the same at 00:00, when the notification comes. Don't remember if leaving message after 23:00 actually makes a difference.

You can't, unless you play with 1.13. 1.13 has an ini option now to turn that off.

Which should never have been done at all imho. Why do you all baulk at the random losses the game gives you? It forces you to choose somebody else, somebody you might never have used before; it's part of the games replay value... the number of offline deaths should be increased if anything otherwise you just use the same old team the same old way etc etc etc.

I don't turn it off. I was stating that you can if you want to in 1.13.

Ahahaha! People that talk about virility usually have something...say "unsecure" in those parts.

Back on topic:
Premise: "me player; me wants to preserve all options".
When cooking an exemplary save, at a stage from where I may want to replay in the future, I have no idea what my "virility" will dictate as merc option a month from now. Or what my friend's "virility" prefers.
Ergo...screw "evolving" 1.13! Very Happy
You follow the reasoning, don't you?

I think he wants to keep his options open to have sex with v1.13 in a month from now when his virility will dictate it. While cooking.

Naughty naughty.

Not just an option to turn it off/on, but also the ability to increase/decrease the number of possible deaths per difficulty. Theoretically for you random replay guys, you could set it to 35 goof off till they're all dead and then play the game with whoever is left Smile

Indeed I upped the number a little for my 1.13 version of MFM. 35 maybe a little too much!!!
