All of a sudden I can't save the game anymore - every time I try it I get an error message, saying "DEBUG: ERROR writing map temp files".

I never had any problems with loading/saving until today, and I conquered most of Danubia already. First, I wasn't able to load my quicksave and my regular save didn't work either. Upon restarting the game, the regular save worked again (the quicksave didn't). I played on for a while, saving numerous times when suddenly I can't save the game anymore - neither to the quicksave or the regular save slot... any ideas anyone? I even restarted my computer in case the RAM needed to be cleared but that didn't help either...

Would hate if I had to stop playing because of this as I think the 1.13/UC hybrid is absolutely brilliant!

Where's your install located, anywhere in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files(x86) ?

No it isn't - it's in D:\008 - Games\Jagged Alliance 2 Gold\ and D:\008 - Games\Urban Chaos\ if that helps Smile

thanks for your suggestions tais - no I can load one savegame without problems, but I can't save anything then

I noticed that the one working savegame (and another, much older one) have 20+mb, while the non-working ones have about 2mb (the ones that return the error message...)

really weird as I hadn't had any problems of this kind before, and like I said, I conquered most of the map already which I guess equals 100+ hours easily :S

I'm out of options then, apart from some potentially breaking things I wont let you try, what revision of the exe are you running btw?

Did you change anything to the exe revision or UC version during your playthrough?

no didn't change anything in the game data/install folder since I started playing

by revision you mean build? I think I use 6077 but I'm not 100 percent sure. where can I check, I didn't find it?

The revision is displayed in the upper left corner during game start or you can press "v" in the game. Unfortunately it is seldom updated so it is a bad indicator. If you use one of Depris SCIs the revision number should be in the file name of the SCI. If your exe is from a mod then you will have to ask the mod author for the revision number.

I was able to circumvent the issue - I loaded an older savegame (I didn't realise it wasn't as old as I feared) and now I can save again. very weird :S

Did you, by any chance, place LBE into LBE into LBE (etc.)? I recall an error from that in old times...

Apart from that, I remember an error a few hundred revisions ago when AI soldiers shooting beltfed MGs corrupted savegames - one could save, but not load. This has since been fixed, so you could check wether a newer exe is compatible to your version.
