Hi.

I like this mod very much, but i find starting cash really low. I would like to change it, but it can't find the parameter among the INIeditor entries. What parameter/file i should be looking for to change the starting money?

G'day.

Using the ini ediotr, it is listed under financial settings (but I don't know specifically which .ini file contains the setting). You can change the starting cash amount for each difficulty level.

Starting cash is in Data-1.13\TableData\DifficultySettings.xml. Use a text editor to modify this file.

That's weird but i can't find this difficultysettings.xml file. I have option to show hidden files enabled in windows explorer. Is my installation corrupted then? The game works fine so i dont know whats going on?

The battlegnome method was correct, topic can be closed now as my problem was resolved.

Look in JA2_Options.ini and search for "Starting cash"

I'm guessing you have the Stable 2014 version or a mod that comes before they started moving stuff around in the XMLs.

To alter the amount, just go to the difficulty that you are going to play...let say you're playing experienced mode, so find the financial root, starting money, find your level of difficulty and in the right side, find a column with total amount...just write 9999999999999999999 for example happy

I can find the amount under financial, but it will not let me alter the amount, is there some key press that I need to use, just clicking on the amount does nothing. It will not let me type in a new amount.

Edit, I finally figured it out, if you double click on the amount it takes you to another input where you can click on various buttons to alter the amount and then save.

If you are using the ini editor, then after you select the setting from the list on the left you should be seeing six fields/values on the center/right of the screen...

Data Type: numeric
Minimum Value: 0
Maximum Vale: 999999
Inverval: 5000
Current Value: 50000 <<< This value will be different for each of the difficulty levels.
New Value: 50000 <<< This value will currently match the "Current Value".

You need to edit the "New Value". After you have changed the value to your desired amount you need to click into another text field for the change to register, when it does you will notice that some of the text on the left of the screen will turn red to signify a change has been made (which is what you want). When that happens press ctrl+s to save your changes.

If this is still not working for, or you are feeling slightly braver, you then you can try editing the .ini file directly. (which is not as scary as it sounds)

Data-1.13\Ja2_Options.ini

Open this file with notepad or Wordpad (or any other text editor) and press ctrl+f to bring up the find box and type "STARTING_CASH" and press enter. This should take you to the exact part of the file you need to edit. You should now see options for each of the difficulty settings and can make changes as you wish. Just remember to save the changes before you start the game.
