Hey, quick question.

I am playing UC1.13 (JA2 1.13 8675 and UCv4.6x) with slow item progression selected. I freed Atremo and Calisto including their UBT stations and triggered the counterattack, but even the elite enemies still come at me with nothing more than Makarovs and Skorpions - no SMGs, Rifles or even Shotguns.
I looted all my better equipment from the police, Gun Runners and Satans Sons and I would at least like to find ammo so I can use that stuff.

Is this normal or did I trigger some kind of bug?

The gangs in the subways call themselves Satans Sons. I think they are hand-placed on the maps, their equipment has been the same in all of my games. They start with just knives in Atremo, but are better equipped and more dangerous the further you ride the Bullet Train. They have some named characters among them, with better equipment compared to the "regular" gang members in the same sector.

I think the Gun Runners use the same AI-pattern the Hillbillies in Vanilla used. They attack you if it is night or if you have attacked one of them sometime before, and I think once you enter certain areas (the Hillbillies protected their shed with the stored guns and explosives), but I haven't found out which area the Gun Runners protect - maybe the complete northeastern sector of Calisto. The single Gun Runner in the northwestern sector (the main airport with the helipad) does not seem to be aggressive on his own, but starts to shoot on sight once the above conditions are met.

All this is just my personal playing experience, the actual coding might be different.

yeah and i killed all of them in calisto. they have pretty nice weapons compared to regular soldiers. the question is can i trade weapons with tony who is leader of gun runners i guess. i have also killed a guy named "gun rune" (portraid is same with vanilla quintuplet bartenders. (poor many big grin )

btw i have also chose slow progression because it was default option so i didnt change.

why did you attack the police anyway?

Two reasons, a) for the loot and cool because the Danubian police turns on you later anyway (about two to three days in all my games so far, might be triggered by progress).

Secret third reason: Revenge. Way back when I played the original Urban Chaos, the Danubian police shot my whole squad down when I tried to loot guns and ammo from the Atremo police station. When I reloaded a save and left their stuff untouched to avoid conflict, I got shot down on my next visit because they got aggro after some days (like they still do).

Some mercs will not attack them while they are still neutral, but even from a roleplaying perspective attacking the police first is justifiable. The Danubian police is described as totally corrupt and controlled by the evil Brenda by most if not all sources of info.

police only turns against me if i get caught when stealing items from them. so it most likely the progress i guess because i am in 10th day or sth and only conquered calisto. i repair items, training militia and practising agility&strengh with my mercs in these days.

so what do you say about tony?

btw, i went back to calisto for fighting against enemy and saw gun runners still at the cargo sector which i cleared the sector (killed all of them) a few days ago. killed them again.

btw, there is sth bad about the civilian enemies, "showing danger view" and sometimes real time stealth are not working for them. maybe these are fixed in recent versions though.

yeap finally police joined enemies and attacked me when i stormed calisto factory. but the thing is they got shot by the enemies a few times before we were figthing in dif. sectors but they didnt fight back to enemies. they considered those shootings and killings as accident while they consider hostile movement if i do same thing.
