Check the death scene. Another possibility is that Grizzly refused to shoot Wolf, and it was recorded as a good relationship.

There is a utility called Proedit that might answer all you're questions. Inside is a section called hidden relations or something like that that points at who likes/hates who and at what price.
Download Proedit and check it out.

Or just play with them enough.:)For example put Foxy and Grizzly right near a door.Save.Have Wolf lockpick the door,or kill an exiting ennemy and sometimes you'll hear Foxy's "Wolfy,your the best!" and Grizzly's "I knew there was something I like about Wolf",sometimes just one of them saying the line,sometimes no comment.Effective closeness(being side by side) between liking-eachother mercs is one of the key factors.

Hm, I rarely ever let her use burst. In fact I didnt even know she had that special. Interesting. Her and Buzz are a good team. Raven takes out single targets from afar or in silence, and Buzz for backup if things get 'hairy'.

Thanks

@Khor1255
Will Proedit work with WF? Well if not i'll later check it anyway with original.

@AZAZEL
I didn't realize closeness is important, since Ice quite often excites himself about Grizzly's actions, even at long distance. I'll have to try with others being close to each other.

I tried ProEdit with attached standard ja2 *.dat files. So, there's 'learn to like' factor, that's why mercs don't talk some lines in the begginning of the game! Smile Another great 'hidden' feature, wonder how many of them i still don't know.
There are also 'appearance', 'hated nationality', 'sexist' values.
Does it mean some mercs later in the game start expressing something against some others, due to their nationality? Or sexist women against men?
And what does attractive appearance do?

Unfotunately, ProEdit doesn't seem to work with WF's IMP.dat file.

I'm not sure how much the predjudices affect merc interactions in the actual game. A lot of features that were originally intended for Ja2 didn't make it into the final code. I don't know if these are among the features that got cut.
It may be my imagination but when a female merc is a babe she seems to wiggle a little bit during the walking animation. This may just be a byproduct of feminine depravation though.

I don't own WF so can't really answer you about that (retail stores here in the states don't carry it and I refuse to buy online). There is some tweaking you need in order to make Proedit work even in standard Ja2 so perhaps this is the case with wildfire? It would really blow if Proedit wasn't available for this mod.

Yes, of course i changed WF's *.dat file names to make them look like these from UB, but it seems to work only for 'ready made' characters, mercs&npcs.
The file containing my imp char. data doesn't display correctly in proedit.

I know it may sound strange, but I have to say it...

MIKE

YES, the best merc is Mike, doesn't matter which side he takes. I missed Mike in JA2. He was expensive as hell, but I'd give any price for him. I liked his attitude don't even mentioning skills. I was really upset when I had to kill him.

Just curious, was Mike's voice from JA1 the same as in JA2?

Personally I like Ivan very much even if I would need a translator to understand what he is saying sometimes! :wb: Lynx and Trevor are among my favorite mercs too.

Anyone else noticed what Wolf says when his buddy Lynx dies?
How can he :headscratch: "miss NOT having Lynx around" when he saved his...Fox-liked part?
